Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specifications, live photos leaked ahead of September 3 launch

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 4 phablet at a pre-IFA event in Berlin on September 3. With less than a month to the launch event, a set of leaked specifications and live photos reveal nearly everything there is to know about the company’s monster device, GSMArena reports.
As seen in the above photos, the phablet looks quite similar to the previous generation Galaxy Note 3 from the front. But it looks completely different from the sides and the rear. The side of the smartphone seems to boast a metal frame a la the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. At the back there is still faux leather, but with a different texture. Also seen is the heart rate monitor placed alongside the rear camera.
While we know that Galaxy Note 4 will flaunt a 5.7-inch Quad HD 1440p display, a new report further reveals that the phablet will be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor paired with Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM. This makes the phablet a monster of a device, more powerful than many of the flagship devices available in the market.
Also featured will be a 16-megapixel rear camera, 4-megapixel front-facing camera, and 32GB of internal storage. It is also rumored that Samsung is working on multiple variants of the phablet, one of which will possibly feature curved YOUM display.

The publication further reveals a photo of what is claimed to be a retail box of the Galaxy Note 4. The design of the phone on the box is consistent with the above leaked photos, which could make it authentic.
As mentioned above, Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 4 at the UNPACKED 2 event on September 3 in Berlin. Alongside the phablet, it is also likely to unveil the Gear VR virtual reality headset, Gear S smartwatch as well as its Google Glass competitor called Gear Glass.

The next Nexus could have a 5.9″ screen by Motorola

Posted by Mukesh patel
There has been quite a bit of speculations around who is developing the next Nexus smartphone. LG has already denied that it is working on the Nexus 6, and there have also been reports about Google’s Android Silver program replacing the Nexus line. Now however, Android Police claims that Google is working with Motorola to develop a Nexus smartphone codenamed ‘Shamu’.

Not much is known about the device, except the fact that it will flaunt a 5.9-inch display as well as a fingerprint scanner. Without a photo, it is hard to believe the claim, but a device named Shamu was also spotted on Google’s issue tracker. The publication reiterates that the device is indeed under development and the companies are looking at launching the device in the US sometime in November.
HTC is already believed to be developing the Nexus 9 tablet codenamed Volantis, which is said to feature a 8.9-inch 2048×1440 pixel display, an Nvidia Tegra K1 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, 3-megapixel front-facing camera and stereo front-facing speakers.
Motorola on its part is said to be readying its flagship device, the Moto X+1. It is said to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 32GB/64GB internal storage. Like the Moto G and the Moto X, there is no microSD card slot to expand the storage.

The Finnish firm may unveil new Android phones in the May-June timeframe at different price points.
Nokia to launch more Android phones this year?
Nokia's Normandy a.k.a Nokia X isn't going to be the only Android smartphone from the Finnish handset maker. According to new rumours, the company will be launching more Android phones including some high-end models later this year.
An Artesyn Technologies source says the new Nokia Android phones will be launched in the May-June timeframe at different price points. However, there's no clarity on whether the phones will have access to Google's Play Store unlike Normandy.
It's notable Microsoft will having all the value added features from Nokia such as PureView cameras, HAAC microphones, and ClearBlack displays, while the Finnish company will be left with low-end Asha and feature phone departments.
Rumours suggest future Nokia Android phones may launch as budget handsets with the Asha overlay on the UI.
According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Nokia's highly rumored Android based handset will go official as 'Nokia X' and likely release this month during the MWC. The smartphone will be part of Nokia's Asha series and feature 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB of in-built memory, a dual-core Snapdragon 200 SoC coupled with 512MB of RAM along with dual-SIM support.
